Courses for Current 4th and 5th Grade Students
Students who are currently in grades 4 or 5 during the 2016-17 school year may choose from the following courses:
Lego’s Architecture II: Build the Lego Emporium, the London Tower Bridge, the Guggenheim Museum, the Eiffel tower and more, or your own cool designs.
Computer Game Design: Learn how to use computer programming languages to make your own computer games.
Kids’ Court: You be the judge. Or the jury, lawyer witness or defendant! Try fun and interesting court cases and learn how to win arguments!
Body and Mind: Get moving, have fun, and learn strategies to help improve strength, flexibility, and focus, manage stress, or get energized.
Gargoyles: Gargoyles are sculptures of mythical beasts. Try your hand at a variety of Medieval art forms, including creating your own gothic Gargoyles. 5th-8th grade only.
Native Americans: Live the culture and way of life of the Hopi, Iroquois and more, through music, art and interactive activities in a life-sized longhouse!
Crime Scene Investigation: Study a crime scene and analyze evidence just like the professionals do. Run crime-lab tests on the evidence and try to solve the murder mystery.
Rocketry II: Design, build and launch a variety of rockets. Physics is fun! ($30 materials fee)
Martial Arts: Have fun and develop strength, agility and stamina with this mixed martial arts class.
Lego Robotics II: Complete fun challenges while learning programming and logic skills. Open to beginners and experts.
Toy Company: Like Shark Tank for kids. Form your own company with your friends, make up your own toy design, and then create and market it!
Claymation: Use I-Movie and stop animation to bring your stories to life using color, sound and motion! Create fun projects in teams and on your own.
